Mary E. Carson

	Mary E. Carson, age 92, of Pinckneyville, died at St. Marys Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Monday, October 2, 2000
	Mary was born on February 11, 1908 in Humboldt, the daughter of Everett Connor Hackleman and Henrietta Emma (Tierney) Hackleman.  She married Cletus L. Carson on october 20, 1928 in Mt. Vernon and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2985.  She retired from h former Pinckneyville Garment Factory and was a member of the ILGWU.  She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, the Homemakers Education Association of Perry County, the Pinckneyville Senior Citizens and the Fellowship of Sunday School Class.  Mary enjoyed flowers, gardening and her grandchildren.
	Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Lee Mason and husband John of Pinckneyville; a brother, Everett Hackleman and wife Pat of DeSoto, Mo.; four sisters, Grace Short and husband Loren of DuQuoin, Maud Thompson of Knoxville, Tenn., Gloria Ostrodka and husband John of Sandoval and Norma Walker of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, Mike Mason and wife Debra, Matt Mason, Vickie Towner and husband Jamie , Patricia Taylor and Annette Beck, 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Janet Taylor; a granddaughter, Debbie mason; three brothers, William, Jack and Harold Hackleman and two sisters, Hazel Karnuth and Inez Montgomery.
	Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 5, 2000 in the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Bush and Rev. Fred Bishop officiating.  Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park in DuQuoin.
	Visitation was on Wednesday, October 5 in the from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville, then at the First Baptist Church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until services.  Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
